Designer Spotlight: Lynsey De Burca

Lynsey de Burca’s work is imbued with the beauty of the Irish Landscape.

From the foothills of Connemara Co. Galway, Lynsey makes quality handmade jewellery, inspired by the piers and small harbours along the Wild Atlantic Way.

“I grew up beside a pier close to Kinvara. This tiny little pier was a treasure trove of fishing nets, lobster pots, crab cages and boat chains. The images have stayed with me, they are etched in my memory and inform my work to this very day.”

Her work boasts a minimal aesthetic, drawing inspiration from the geology of the western landscape.

To experience her work is to experience the Irish landscape in all its glory.

“I also like to evoke the love of my home by naming jewellery pieces after areas such as The Hill of Doon, Tarrea, Tooreen and Doorus. Beautiful pieces named after beautiful places.”

Lynsey’s jewellery will take you on a trip to the wild coast of Galway as soon as you tie the clasp of her necklace on your neck.
