Here's How to Support Local Businesses this Green Friday

It’s Time to get Excited about Green Friday

This year, we’re using Green Friday as an opportunity to shine a spotlight on our innovative and eclectic creative corner here on Drury Street and it’s safe to say, we’re excited!

Undoubtably, Black Friday offers will have throngs of bargain hunters scouring the city looking to save on their Christmas bill.  So how can small businesses and independent makers fly a flag for our little shops and the kind of intentional gift buying we want to encourage?

Why Shopping Local Matters

With many of us having fallen into the black hole of over-consumption and panic shopping that happens this time of year, now is the time to take a breath and consider how we can do things differently.

We all want to see our local businesses thrive and know how important it is for consumers to have alternatives to big brand buying. With over €50 billion estimated to be spent this year over the Black Friday weekend, we cannot underestimate the positive impact we can have as consumers to choose to buy even one local gift this Christmas.

There is always a demand at this time of year for handmade gifts that tell a story and stand the test of time. These are some of the reasons why The Collective houses such a wide variety of jewellers and craftspeople from all over Ireland and beyond, nurturing our home-grown talent as well as offering our customer a wide variety of styles and tastes.
